Who is this Bob Spack guy, and why should I care?

Robert “Bob” Spack, aka “MrSpack” is an IRC bot. A markov-chain-generator trained solely on IRC content to be specific. We (some friends and I) thought he was pretty funny to pass around at a bar (irc for mobile is a thing). He evolved into this whole character over time. He eats squirrels in the park, face-first. He’s romantically involved with my Fallout character, a female bruiser with INT/CHR around 3, named “Wadioactive Weeba”. It just kind of snowballed due to the varied sick humor among the company I keep.

So, I guess you shouldn’t care, but that’s who he is. A disturbing figment of collective imagination.

What personal data does he collect and why does he collect it

Well, he likes data. He’s a markov-chain generator. If you happen upon him on IRC, he records everything to use later.

When visitors leave comments on the site the server collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. Bob might pay you a visit.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will track everything you do from that point forward, saving it all in our databases for machine learning or something.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

If we post shit from youtube, and you don’t agree with youtube, skip that post.

Who we share your data with

Bob, obviously. He eats data, literally feeds off it.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

Once it’s on this server, it belongs to the server owner, floz. Aside from that, we will respond (without so much snarky humor) to any appropriately generated requests.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data

We have an active sysadmin that is constantly utilizing this server for non-nefarious things. We gave him a lab so that he can do that stuff there.

A note from the sysadmin, floz

If you’re viewing this site in a country that requires we have this page up, now we have it up. I’m not thrilled about having to type this crap up, but whatever.
